Nice panel gimmick by David Wachter for That Hell Bound Train (July 2011). I’ve seen something similar in a few movies but it works better in a comic book than the screen. Painting on glass to segue in the next scene isn’t as effective as breaking the panel wall.

Lady, That's My Skull 
There's a Laurel & Hardy short where Stan reaches over, grabs the edge of the screen, and "pulls" a wipe across the frame. He does this a couple of times but the last time he does it it slips from his fingers & goes flying back like a window shade!
Oh,I am totally gonna use that one day!
